Not harassing people is super easy. Its crazy that people still go out of their way to mess with folks just having fun.

    2. I mean, isn’t that every anime girl? I don’t think Frieren is especially prevalent in those circles. But maybe I’m wrong, idk

    3. It kinda irritates how often people essentially “let” racists have stuff like this. Racists are varied and have all sorts of interests just like everyone else and it’s annoying how often a TV show or a game etc will get defined by them as if there aren’t loads of regular people who are also fans of it.

It really is a shame the hate there is for us DRESSING UP AS FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. Like, come on man, chillax.

Looks really good!! I wonder if it would be possible to get her hair done like with silver. Would bring it from a 10 to an 11

    6. Whenever I see the public responses to black anything within anime & manga circles, ts gets depressing. I can’t imagine the hate the actual creators receive. But on a positive note, she killed this.

I doubt Frieren the show or character is loved by MAGA, nazis, or racists. It’s an intellectual and emotional anime that has two women as the leads.

There is the internet joke that Frieren is racist since she dislikes demons, but 100% of demons are evil in her world. That would be someone calling Blade racist against vampires – that would be dumb beyond it being a joke.

    8. I appreciate good cosplay, that being said I don’t get the reference. It’s happened. I’m old.

    9. kind of a weird take. who cares what racists think?

Unless the entire point of the cosplay is validation what does it matter what some racists say?

    10. RIP squidkid1111 (insta) another awesome black cosplayer who sadly took their life because of online racism.

    11. My heart goes out to her. I survived racists bullying in the 90s-2000s in school. My mom wanted to put me in a white school district for the education, but what I got was a group of rich kids that wound up being trump supporting adults. I ended up liking anime and wanted to be a gamer and I’m doing it for my inner teen that was told that was “white people shit” and “you’re too old for this now!”from her own people.

I definitely have been in her shoes more than I’d like to admit. People; PLEASE FIND YOUR TRIBE I PROMISE THEY ARE OUT THERE. IF YOU NEED HELP ASK FOR IT DO NOT BE ASHAMED TO ASK FOR SUPPORT.

      RIP Queen.

    12. There was a post yesterday about a black cosplayer committing suicide from the online racism and bullying they were getting. The fear of harassment is one of the reasons I pause when thinking of cosplaying a pale character. So far I’ve stuck to non humans and brown characters.

    13. She’s an incredible cosplayer. Anyone hating on her is doing it for their own internal reasons, not any fault of hers.

This is like the whole “culture appropriation” but for anime.

Just let people have fun. They care enough to try something outside of their culture and they get chastised by dumbasses, but sadly theyre the loudest.

    15. Isn’t that BOTW: Creating a Champion in her arms? If so that is so fucking funny. You go Champion!

She looks fire and I’m waiting for season 2.

Cosplay is cosplay at the end of the day, hate if you want to.

I won’t specifically support a cosplayer because of race.

… And like for something of this quality. Nobody even needs to. That’s genuinely good shit.
